Lyve Inkjet Canvas

Lyve Inkjet Canvas

Description

19 Mil 400gsm matte poly-cotton inkjet canvas.  Archival certified, OBA-Free

Released under the bold mantra 'Go Live with Lyve', the award-winning Lyve™ Canvas has taken the printmaking industry by storm. With eye-popping colour gamut and Dmax, coupled with critical archival certification and the ability to apply a laminate hassle-free, it sets a new standard of excellence in fine art and photographic printmaking. Internally, Breathing Color refers to this masterful blend of artistry and engineering as 'the game changer' that will capture every nuance in your images. The Lyve™ Canvas is a 19 mil bright white, consistent poly-cotton blend matte canvas using an acid-free, neutral pH coating.

Key Features

Eye-popping colour gamut & dmax
If Chromata White Canvas impressed you, wait till you see Lyve. Lyve boasts a 15% measurable improvement in Dmax and colour gamut. 'Go Live with Lyve' and you''ll be using the finest matte canvas on the market, but you don’t have to take our word for it - read the reviews we have posted from customers and industry influentials.

Incredible resolution
There is no doubt that Lyve took a leap forward in delivering image resolution. It will capture detail and nuance in your images that you won't have seen on another canvas. Many photographers attest that this is Lyve''s most desirable improvement. Want to see the difference? Check out these close-ups of Lyve vs. Chromata White and Lyve vs. 800m

OBA-Free, yet still bright white
Called 'Chromata White', this breakthrough technology has set Breathing Color apart for years. Normally, OBA-Free products have a yellowish surface. Our 'Chromata White' technology, which we released in 2005, forever changed this by delivering OBA-Free with the desired brighter white surface. This answered the needs of our customers to maximise the longevity of their prints while maintaining the most popular and desired look.

'Chromata White' gives the end-user the most stable platform on which to print photographs and fine art giclees without the metamerism issues or colour shift issues inherent on other canvases. Optical Brighteners compromise the attainment of true colour, they complicate profiling accuracy, and they inevitably deteriorate and yellow over time.  You can read more about OBA''s and their long-term effects on inkjet prints

No better matte canvas & varnish combo
There''s nothing superior to the combination of Lyve and Timeless - both proprietary products that were designed for one another. Never use a varnish again that wasn't designed specifically for your canvas.

Archival certified
Lyve is archival certified for 100+ years. Download and utilise Lyve's Archival Certificate to differentiate your business and show your customers how much you care about quality and the long term permanence of their prints.

No cracking or tearing when stretching
When varnished with Timeless Gloss, Satin, or Matte, Lyve will not crack or tear when stretched. See it for yourself in this Fold Test

At Paper & Canvas Ltd we have a great range of stretcher bar options, including quality European pine stretcher bars, the EasyWrappe system and a unique ‘any size’ DIY stretcher system for those custom sized jobs you no longer have to turn away!

Highly water-resistant
All Breathing Color inkjet canvas grades are water resistant. Lyve will accept a water based liquid laminate or water based varnish and is compatible with both Timeless and the original Glamour II canvas varnish which provide necessary protection against scratches, scuffs, airborne pollutants and moisture.

Other Product Information

Our 'Chromata White' technology gives end-users the most stable platform on which to print photographs and fine art giclees without the metamerism issues or color shift issues inherent on other canvases. Optical Brighteners compromise the attainment of true color, they complicate profiling accuracy, and they inevitably deteriorate and yellow over time.

(For critical information regarding longevity issues and optical brightener additives, please visit the Wilhelm Research Institute by clicking here and a new browser window will open. From there, scroll down the bottom of the page to TESTING NOTE # 7. Also available is an article explaining Print Permanence Ratings and the actual guarantees they provide).

The water resistant surface works exceptionally well with Timeless Veneer, our proprietary water-based top coat coating designed specifically for our line of inkjet canvas (click here to see a video demonstration and for further information on Timeless). If coated with TimeIess, this canvas will not crack even under extremely rigorous stretching conditions (canvas gallery wrap).

Print Permanence Testing & Archivability Standards

LYVE CANVAS PASSES BLUE WOOL TEST: Extensive independent testing by a UKAS accredited laboratory has concluded that the Lyve Canvas meets and exceeds the standards set forth by the Fine Art Trade Guild for pH and lightfastness. The Fine Art Trade Guild has established these standards in order to protect the interests of consumers. Consumers who follow the Blue Wool Testing and the Fine Art Trade Guild standards can be confident that the art and framing supplies they use are archival.

Option # 3 - Manage Your Own Colour Professionally

There is only one way to manage your colour workflow and ensure that your prints meet your standards, and that is by managing your own colour. First, your monitor must be calibrated. Then, the media you are using must be profiles for use with your specific printer. Even though we may be able to provide you with a generic icc profile for your printer model, every individual printer "drifts" from this and this is why a generic profile will never deliver 100% accurate results.

The good news is that Xrite, the global leader in colour science, has made this easier and more affordable than ever with their Colormunki Photo product. Colormunki was designed specifically as a completely integrated colour control solution for photographers and printmakers, so that you can get accurate screen to print colour matching, every time.
